During our 2019 Windmill and Tulips Viking River Cruise, we stopped in Hoorn and then went to one of the many tulip farms to learn about growing tulips. I was impressed with the vastness of the fields and learned that the real value of the tulips are the bulbs and why they cut the flowers off.
My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras. I was extremely excited about digital photography and jumped on the opportunity to go digital with a Nikon D300, my first digital camera. My enthusiasm for photographing the outdoors was back and have been enjoying it immensely. When the Nikon D800 with its full frame sensor was released, I upgraded.
