Crowfoot Glacier is east of the continental divide, and runoff from the glacier supplies water to the Bow River. The glacier has retreated since the end of the Little Ice Age and has since lost one entire lobe. Crowfoot Glacier and Mountain are along the Icefields Parkway and easily photographed.

My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras. I was extremely excited about digital photography and jumped on the opportunity to go digital with a Nikon D300, my first digital camera. My enthusiasm for photographing the outdoors was back and have been enjoying it immensely. When the Nikon D800 with its full frame sensor was released, I upgraded.
