The weather forecast was calling for a cloudy sky the following day so I got up early to get down to the National Mall before the sunrise. The clouds started to thicken up as early morning progressed but the sun made a brief appearance when it came up over the horizon putting some color in the sky. There was no wind which made for some nice reflections in the Reflecting Pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memoiral. If you visit Washington DC, I recommend getting to the Mall early in the morning to enjoy the peace and quietness before the main stream of tourist arrive.
My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras. I was extremely excited about digital photography and jumped on the opportunity to go digital with a Nikon D300, my first digital camera.
