The village of Bernard, Maine, is part of the municipality of Tremont on Mount Desert Island. It is also one of the most beautiful fishing harbors on the east coast of the United States. On the east side is the well known Bass Harbor. On the west side is Bernard. If you visit Bass Harbor Light, consider visiting Bernard which is about a 15 minute drive by car.

My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras. I was extremely excited about digital photography and jumped on the opportunity to go digital with a Nikon D300, my first digital camera. My enthusiasm for photographing the outdoors was back and have been enjoying it immensely. When the Nikon D800 with its full frame sensor was released, I upgraded.
