Two Water Lilies - Landscape Canvas Print

Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens is probably overlooked by many visiting Washington DC. The 7.5 acre sanctuary features over 45 ponds filled with a variety of water lilies, lotus, and other species. The gardens are surrounded by75 acres of fresh water tidal wetlands. A must see for anyone visiting DC.

I arrived a few minutes after sunrise to capture these two water lilies. There are three cement ponds behind the visitor center fill with different types of water lilies. I find the water and lighting better suited for photographing than those in the regular ponds where the lotus are found.

My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras.
