Using the elements of stone, water, bronze, and words, the World War II Memorial honors all that service and scarified. The World War II Memorial is dedicated to Americans who served in the armed forces and as civilians during World War II. It consists of 56 pillars and a pair of small arches surrounding a plaza and fountain, it sits on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.

My love of the outdoors and interest in photography goes back many years. I've always enjoyed photographing landscapes and nature and sharing what I've seen with other people. Like many photographers, I was never happy with the processing done at my local lab and my interest in photography dipped for several years until the advent of digital cameras. I was extremely excited about digital photography and jumped on the opportunity to go digital with a Nikon D300, my first digital camera. My enthusiasm for photographing the outdoors was back and have been enjoying it immensely. When the Nikon D800 with its full frame sensor was released, I upgraded.
